Shinesaeng Holds Press Screening for “Power Ballad,” Enlists Big D Gerrard to Perform Thai Version of “How to Write a Song Without You” for the First Time

The story begins with a new song that hides both meaning and someone behind it, for a memorable evening after Shinesaeng Ad.Venture held the press screening for “Power Ballad”, a film that has received strong acclaim abroad, inviting the talented artist Big D Gerrard to help create a truly special moment, giving everyone a chance to experience the world of this film through “song,” its essential heart, before sending its emotional impact out to audiences in cinemas from 11 June.

At the event, Big D Gerrard performed the song How to Write a Song Without You in Thai for the first time, conveying the song’s emotion and meaning through his voice in an impressive way, giving attendees a chance to experience another side of “Power Ballad”. He also shared the meaning hidden within the song’s lyrics.

The event was also honoured by Chaiwat Mingmai, Chief Executive Officer, Jirasin Jarupornchai, Director of Distribution at Shinesaeng Ad.Venture Co., Ltd., and Big D Gerrard, who joined a conversation and took photos together on stage, amid an atmosphere filled with the musical power of the film, at Paragon Cineplex.

“Power Ballad”, directed by John Carney, the director of Once, Begin Again and Sing Street. More than 10 years after John Carney’s last outing, this is a film about dreams, fame, and a single song… that may change someone’s life forever. And this isn’t just a music film — it’s another work filled with his heart, ready to bring audiences back into the world of music once again. The film has received acclaim from film festivals worldwide, winning the Best Feature award from the Annapolis Film Festival 2026 and Boulder International Film Festival 2026, while earning glowing reviews from critics. Another key highlight is the pairing of two leading actors, Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas, who bring to life a story of fame, dreams, and success, through another side of a song that may hide a secret behind it.

The film “Power Ballad” tells the story of a chance meeting between Rick (played by Paul Rudd), the lead singer of a wedding band, and Danny (played by Nick Jonas), a former famous boy-band member, when they discover that the song they casually wrote together that night has become a global hit. From this small beginning of music, the story leads to fame, success, and an important question: when a hit song may not belong to the person everyone thinks it does, behind that catchy tune there may sometimes be “someone else” hidden away. Reclaiming a dream through a single song may come at the cost of something important in life.
