“HOPE” Reveals Roles for “Hwang Jung-min, Jung Ho-yeon and Zo In-sung”, Who Face a Massive Threat on 9 September

Get ready, from the world stage to Thai cinemas — from the Cannes Film Festival to San Diego Comic-Con 2026, HOPE, a blockbuster sci-fi thriller, remains one of the most anticipated films of the year. After revealing exclusive footage at the event, “Na Hong-jin” left a message for fans: “Forget everything you've guessed about my previous work, because HOPE will take you in a completely different direction.”

“HOPE” has now unveiled 3 characters, played by Hwang Jung-min, Jung Ho-yeon and Zo In-sung, who take audiences into a small village facing a mysterious threat that no one has ever encountered before. When every decision may mean life or death for the entire village, “hope” becomes the most important thing in a situation that is impossible to predict.

Hwang Jung-min as “Beom-seok”, a police officer standing on the front line of the fight, who must assemble a team and lead everyone to confront the threat facing the small village, with every decision a matter of life and death. This marks a reunion between Hwang Jung-min and Na Hong-jin after their acclaimed collaboration on THE WAILING, and this time they lead audiences to face a new kind of catastrophe.

Meanwhile, Jung Ho-yeon plays “Seo-ae”, an actress who captivated audiences worldwide in Squid Game, taking on her first leading film role as a young police officer who must confront a strange event gradually consuming the village, becoming one of the key forces in the fight for survival.

As for Zo In-sung, working with Na Hong-jin was an opportunity he did not hesitate to accept. Zo In-sung plays “Seong-gi”, a man standing on the front line of the fight, with a strong survival instinct and one of the key forces in the events, as he leads people to rise up and fight to protect a once-peaceful village from a threat no one has ever faced before.
